Welcome to isafox!

isafox is a new social network being built by David King (optimal) and the ShavedPlatypus design team so that the world can have a pretty, private place to do their social stuff! Like MySpace was, except a damn site simpler to use and design! Because the code is a one man endevour, it might take a while to get going, but hey, that's life!

The site will always be NON-PROFIT, and (as I say in the registration email) if it ever does stand to make some money, we'll put it to a good cause, wether it's Open Source, one laptop per child, or whatever we'll make sure its worthy!

I've taken a different approach to this social network than anyone else has, so no facebook "apps" or shitty myspace codes that fuck every day, just good old fashioned awesomeness! Here's some of the features you wont appreciate till you try it:

• Registration / Login - naturally
• An exellent profile editor - like myspace was meant to be
• Omni-directional buddies system - there's none of this "user wants to be your buddy, do you accept?" crap. With isafox you are free to like anyone, but wether they like you back is a different matter! Hawhaw.
• Automatic buddy ranking - if you write someone lots of comments, clearly you like them!
• Not so personal information - feel free to lie about everything, tis your info!
• Music! Oh the music! Upload as many tunes as you like, no limits, steal, search, share, it's you're perogative!
• Profile comments - if someone likes you, you're free to write them comments. And if you like someone, they're free to write you comments! Lovely
• User avatars and design images - don't get me started on how awesome the image management is, if you're a designer, you'll giggle!
• There are <form> helpers - a colour picker, location finder, date selection and image uploaderer, they're all sexy as sin!
• Instead of sections for "info" and "interests" and all that restrictive nonsense, write whatever you want with the pushbox

Just a few odds and sods that need to be done, I've written this as I need to understand it, sorry if it's a bit too indepth!

• Private messages
• Set number of buddies to show on profile.
• Ability to block a user... Is this needed?
• Multiple user login, manage your personal page, portfolio, music and other split personalities with one login!
• A compact bulletin board cleverly called "Tickertape"
• The profile page needs a few more bits:
